GENOMIC SOLUTIONS INC.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Genomic Solutions is an emerging market leader in the design, development, manufacturing, marketing and selling of genomic and proteomic instrumentation, software, consumables and services for the emerging field of genome research. The company markets its products globally and has facilities in Ann Arbor, MI; Lansing, MI; the UK and Japan. GSI is experiencing rapid business growth, which is placing extreme demands on existing facilities. In order to better service its customers and to gain efficiencies, GSI will require new 60,000 GSF state-of-the-art laboratories and flexible office environments to meet demands through 2003. Modular expansion will accommodate growth beyond that date.

P2M developed facility program requirements for GSI and developed detailed conceptual cost models for different facility options. These included new build-to-suit office / lab options and consideration of the new flexible Steelcase Workstage "P" Building concept. P2M is now functioning as GSI's overall project manager and will guide GSI through the entire project process.
